CREATED TO REIGN WITH THE KING
{Matthew 5:5} ... “Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth.”
{Revelation 5:10} ... “You have made them into a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”
God’s original covenant commission to Adam and Eve was clear: rule the earth, subdue it, and steward it in His name (Genesis 1:28). They were created to live in creation and also to rule it as God’s royal image-bearers. Though Adam failed, God didn’t revoke the assignment. Jesus came as the Second Adam to restore what was lost but also to fulfill the original mandate in partnership with His bride—the ekklesia.
{Romans 8:17} ... And if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
The New Covenant has reinstated the royal calling. Christ reigns, and the ekklesia, His co-heirs, reign with Him. This is a future hope, but also a present preparation and reality.
THE KINGDOM IS A COVENANT GOVERNMENT
{Daniel 2:44} ... “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed... it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.”
The kingdom of God is a real government, with real jurisdiction over the earth. Christ’s reign is advancing, expanding, and His people are being trained now to participate in that rule for eternity. Every act of faithfulness now—every prayer, every surrender, every act of godly justice—is part of your training for rulership. Zechariah’s prophecy still resonates:
{Zechariah 9:9–10} ... “Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is righteous and endowed with salvation ... And He will speak peace to the nations; And His dominion will be from sea to sea...”
His reign shall extend over the whole earth (Zechariah 14:9), and the ekklesia, made ready through testing, will govern with Him on the renewed earth.
The Ekklesia Is the Picture of Kingdom Rule
{Luke 16:10} ... “The one who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much.”
Jesus spoke in parables of faithful servants ruling cities.
{Luke 19:17} ... “And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to have authority over ten cities.’”
King Jesus established the kingdom principle, which declares that faithfulness in small things leads to rulership in greater things. Paul asked the Corinthian believers:
{1 Corinthians 6:2–3} ... “Do you not know the saints will judge the world?... and angels?”
These are covenant truths, reminders that this life is preparation for a ruling future. The ekklesia wasn’t meant to be a spectator body sitting in pews—it’s a governing body in training. We aren’t saved to simply go to heaven; we’re redeemed to extend the rule of heaven through our love, our obedience, and our spiritual authority. Every house church is a training ground for kings and queens in the Kingdom.
RULING ON THE NEW EARTH FULFILLS THE ORIGINAL COVENANT
{Genesis 2:15} ... “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and tend it.”
When Revelation says, “they will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:5), it’s the final fulfillment of Genesis 1 and Psalm 8. What began in the garden will end on the New Earth. God’s covenant promises don’t have an expiration date. He restores it through Christ and entrusts it to the ekklesia. Eternity isn’t endless bliss—it is covenant assignment. It is restored dominion and kingdom participation under the Lordship of Christ. Every believer who is faithful now will govern then. This is why discipleship matters, equipping matters, and obedience matter.
ARE YOU LETTING THE LORD PREPARE YOU TO REIGN?
{2 Timothy 2:12} ... “If we endure, we will also reign with Him.”
God’s covenant plan is this: prepare His people now for what they will do forever. You're being saved, but you’re also being shaped. Each trial, each test, each moment of surrender to the King is refining you into someone fit to share the throne. You don’t need to “feel” ready.
{Matthew 25:23} ... “Well done, good and faithful servant… you have been faithful in a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.”
Covenant comes through agreement (Amos 3:3). You must agree that you are ready. The King is seeking faithfulness, not man-pleasing performance. The crown belongs to the yielded disciple.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: We belong to the ekklesia, the ruling assembly of Christ Jesus the risen King. We declare that we were saved to reign with Christ by covenant grace, not by our works. We declare we are being shaped today for the authority we will carry tomorrow. The King’s dominion is increasing, and we will be faithful in what He assigns us now. We won’t bury our calling; we will cultivate it through obedience. Our hands were made to govern, our words to bless, our steps to advance the kingdom. The New Earth is our inheritance, and the presence of Christ is my reward. We will walk in our equipping, we will walk in our purpose. And we will call forth the rising generation of royal sons and daughters. Together, we say yes to the King and the crown prepared for the faithful.
